Vote yes on Prop 8

In November proposition 8 will be brought to the voters to overturn the state's court ruling of allowing same-sex marriage in California. We recognize every individual's rights to believe as they may, but do not feel it is up to the state to re-define the basic fundamental principle that marriage is between a man and a woman.

We can already see opposition, even with the wording of the proposition. We have recently found that the California secretary of state has changed the language on the ballot. The original wording of the November ballot initiative read, "[Proposition 8] amends the California Constitution to provide that only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

The new language says that the initiative "Changes California Constitution to eliminate right of same-sex couples to marry."

That is not what we are hoping to achieve with this proposition with eliminating rights, rather we are hoping to define marriage as God has always intended it to be - between a man and a woman.

So even with the underhanded wording of the Proposition, please vote yes to protect the bonds of marriage!
